Hummingbird sighting in the Sacred Valley

Peru stands out for presenting a variety of extraordinary birds. We have more than 1800 species. Currently we have the 3rd place in bird biodiversity, we follow Colombia and Brazil that occupy the 1st and 2nd place.

In Peru we have 115 species of hummingbirds. Most of them develop in the Andean areas, both on the eastern and western slopes. Within the Tropical Andes biodiversity hotspot where we are located.

At the Aranwa Sacred Valley hotel we have the presence and sporadic visit of 8 different species of hummingbirds, among which we have an endemic, the Green and White Hummingbird. Currently, work is underway to recompose the native flora and flowers that naturally attract them.

Hummingbirds feed on the nectar of flowers, have a fast metabolism and cannot go more than 15 minutes without feeding. If a hummingbird is found trapped within the hotel facilities, it is important to report it immediately and release it.

The best space for hummingbird sighting in the hotel is in the sighting area next to the pool.
